You're So Vain

1) Samantha Winters is very vain about her light blonde locks. What's your best feature? I think my lips and smile are

2) Carly Simon is the daughter of a wealthy family (Simon & Shuster Publishing). How would your life today be different if you knew there was a large sum of inherited money in your future? I wouldn't worry as obsessively about money

3) October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Carly is a proud breast cancer survivor. Has breast cancer -- or cancer of any type -- touched you, your family or your circle of friends? my grandfather died from colon cancer and my godmother had breast cancer in the 70s

4) Carly has been known to perform with her sister, Lucy, and their oldest sister Joanna is a mezzo-soprano. Is your family musical? my dad is a professional musician--he is music director at two local churches, he conducts the community choral society, and other musical things like that... one of my sisters is also a cantor at her church. I have been told that I have a lovely voice but I don't enjoy performing, so I don't sing anymore. Which I know is sad. And I do miss it.

5) Carly suffers from stage fright, a liability in her profession. When was the last time fear got the better of you? hmmm... last week

6) Do you wear hats? no, although I have knit some hats that won't squish my hair too much, so I am going to try to become a hat person

7) Autumn is known as "sweater weather." Is there a chill in the air where you are today? there is a chill, it is 52 degrees

8) Do you drink bottled water? at school, yes; at home I filter water

9) What color is your toothbrush? I don't know, let me go look.... blue!

Isn't teaching a performance art? After all, you're up there, every day, conducting class and holding their attention! You should go do karaoke. I bet you'd be brilliant.

I completely agree with The Gal--teaching IS a performance! It's just a type of performing that you are--for whatever reason--very comfortable with!

I always wished I was musically inclined, but alas I can't even carry a note.

I love to sing, but I don't think I have a lovely voice. You are lucky!

I don't know what I hate more- squished hair from a hat or a sun burnt scalp from a visor.
