fire...

So, Monday night when the temperature was well below-zero, there was a fire in the apartment house next door. I didn't realize until it was rather late and then I had a tough decision whether to stay up and watch the happenings or go to sleep. After about twenty minutes, and watching the firemen roll up one hose, I decided to go to sleep. Things were under control. No one needed my help. Although, I did have blankets at the ready if they were needed.

I should explain that my apartment house is on a corner and my apartment faces one block but the fire was on the other block. But still, I didn't sense any activity nor did I hear sirens! I didn't fret about it all night. I didn't stay awake waiting for my apartment to burst into flames. Big improvement in the OCD area. Typically I would be on guard all night just waiting for it to happen to my house.

Here's a link to the local news broadcast.

I would have been up all night, not worrying but watching.

Maybe you were having one of those "I am woman; therefore, I am tired" nights.

Seriously, I'm happy you were able to rest soundly.

I'm sorry, you lost me at "well below zero." I think I froze to death for you.

I'm glad you were able to get a good night's sleep!
