Grade/Rate Holiday Movies A – F
1. A Christmas Story. I think I'm the only person who doesn't get why this is such a classic... I mean, it's ok, I give it a C.
2. How The Grinch Stole Christmas. The animated is an A and the Jim Carrey is a C.
3. The Santa Clause. B
4. Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer. A-
5. Frosty The Snowman. B-
6. Home Alone. Another movie I didn't get in to. D
7. National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation. A-
8. Elf. A
9. Miracle on 34th Street. Now, this is tricky because if I could blend parts of the original and the remake it would be a top notch movie. So together: B+
10. A Charlie Brown Christmas. A
11. White Christmas. So much schmaltz. B
12. The Polar Express. Visually stunning. A-
13. It's A Wonderful Life. B
14. A Christmas Carol. So many versions--my favorite is the Muppet Christmas Carol or the George C. Scott. Both of those get an A.
15. Love Actually. I really enjoy how this movie explores love. A-

We saw Home Alone (the original one) in a theater where we sat a couple of rows in front of a 5- or 6-year-old and his (her?) dad. The giggles coming from behind us at the ridiculously violent parts totally MADE the movie for us.
When we stood up to put our coats on, we both turned around to get a look at the giggler; the dad misinterpreted our look and quickly apologized. We told him we didn't think the movie would have been nearly as fun if his kid hadn't been there. ;-)
We're on the same page about A Christmas Carol. Of course I swiped this!
LOVE A Christmas Carol, in all it's versions! Especially Jim Carrey's, Bill Murray's and Patrick Stewart's :-)
