so many books...

It's the first of October: Buy A Friend A Book Week! Happening at the same time as the 30th anniversary of Banned Book Week! So I am sending banned books to my nieces. One is getting To Kill a Mockingbird, by Harper Lee (banned because of: offensive language; racism) and another is getting The Hunger Games trilogy, by Suzanne Collins banned because of: anti-ethnic; anti-family; insensitivity; offensive language; occult/satanic; violence).

I think I'll send another book to my bestie just because.

Awesome! I must say I've really warmed to "To Kill a Mockingbird" over the years... I wonder what I'm getting? :)

When my children were growing up, I always made a point to keep a selection of banned/challenged books on the shelves, along with other ones.
