Oh, sweet Jeebus. I have to have my wisdom teeth out. At least they aren't impacted. Now I've got the drama (and trauma) of setting this up and trying to schedule around school. And the rest of the dental visit went well. Even though it's been more years than I care to admit since my last dental visit, the dentist and hygienist were impressed with the state of my teeth and gums. Except for one wisdom tooth--that of the excruciating pain. So, I'm now on an antibiotic and powerful pain killer. And there's a whole other level of anxiety. I've never been under anesthesia. I know!

Anesthesia is bad, I had it a couple of times. They just put a mask over your face and tell you to count backward from a 100. 100, 9... zzzz And the next thing that you know you are waking up in the recovery room.
I had some crazy dreams while I was under. Very vivid.
I won't lie to you -- having your wisdom teeth out is no picnic. But it's better than that unrelenting pain in your head. You'll be so glad you did it when it's over. Anesthesia is not so bad. Really.
Don't panic. I had my wisdom teeth out a few years ago (and I'm dental phobic!) and it was fine. Fun? No, but it wasn't traumatic or awful.
Ask if you can get some halcion ahead of the appointment. It'll take the edge off your nerves and help you to not remember the day.
Diana, did you mean to say that anesthesia ISN'T bad? It isn't; trust me.
Oh dear LORD, woman! I'm sorry you were struggling so much. Sparky had his wisdom (teeth) yanked a couple of years ago and he was only down for a day or so afterwards. I haven't read ahead, but I hope you're better by now!
