musing mondays

Click here to play along.
This week’s musing — courtesy of http://cmashlovestoread.com — asks…

• Do you have a system as to which books to read from your “requested review pile? What is it? What about when there are too many to read in a certain time frame? {apologies to those who don’t review}

I don't review and this pressure is why. I've only been asked to review one book and it was over my summer vacation so I was able to read it at my leisure.

I think it's important for us to remember that reviewing is by choice.

I only read and reviewed books from my own library for a year or two before anyone asked me to review a book. At first it was Amazon Vine, and then publishers/authors/publicists.

I still say "no" if I choose to do so.

Thanks for visiting my blog.

Since I read for fun and entertainment, I am very selective of the books I choose for requested reading. I also don’t like the stress of having to have a book read by a certain time. That is one of the reasons I started my own personal library so I’m not under a deadline to get a book read. I also love my local library, but don’t check out many books because again I have to read it by a certain date, I am retired and don’t like stress. ; )

I have a more or less private (Book Lust Journal) where I post my thoughts about each book I choose to read. There I can post whatever thoughts I choose to.

It is easy to get caught up and accept too many..then the pressure sets in and the fun goes out..

Yes, sometimes accepting books to review can get stressful

I agree with those comments before me. Once I started to review via requests, it was fun. Then the more books I accepted, I just can't say NO, I became buried. Am trying my best to cut back on accepting but if the synopsis sounds like something I would enjoy, it is always yes! Thanks for stopping by. Have a great week!
