I am going to try my hand at knitting. I am going to join a local knitting group. Thursday evenings from 5-7. Called the Thursday Knight Knotty Knitters. I have tried knitting before and just couldn't get the hang of it. But through the magic of FaceB*ok, they have agreed to teach me. I'm nervous. Like, actually nervous. I invited my sister to join me and she's going to give it a try, too. Which is good, it's something she can teach me because she knows which end of the needle to use (and I don't). Although with the needles in that picture, I know to use the pointy end.
I have to admit part of the lure of knitting is the great books I've read, like The Beech Street Knitting Society and Yarn Club. Plus a couple other books that feature knitters make it appealing to me. I will try.

I think this is very cool! There's a woman who attends my church who sits by herself in an uppermost pew, basket beside her, knitting away and I think she looks just so neat. Be sure to get one of those baskets for your yarns!
Knitting is lovely. I first learned a small amount in a mini-class in fifth grade. I still think of myself as a beginning knitter, but I do love the click/click of the needles.
I thought of picking up knitting, too, though I found, learning on my own, I had better luck with crochet. Please report back; I'm eager to hear how it goes for you!
Knitting is a great hobby! Good luck with your learning. I don't knit, myself.
