One of my students from last year is skittish but we had a really nice visit this morning, maybe now that she's not my student she will relax around me more. As I was working, I had several other visitors and it was a fun balance between getting stuff done and visiting.

I thought of you on Sunday morning as I was reading Sen. Scott Brown's book, Against All Odds. He had a dismal childhood, and is very open about how much one of his teachers and her coach/husband meant to him. It must be great to know that, as a teacher, just doing your job well, you can shape lives!
