My dear friend from school is visiting with her parents (from Poland) and she invited a group of us out to her house for lunch. It was a traditional Polish meal with this cold soup called Chłodnik, a watermelon and bleu cheese salad, rice pilaf, fresh grilled asparagus, chicken cordon bleu, a fantastic phyllo feta-spinach pie and amazing angel cake with rose jelly for dessert. I wasn't expecting such an amazing spread. The food was luscious, the conversation quick and witty--overall a great lunch. I'm still full! The only drawback was the weather: it's cold and rainy again.
