It's been a weirdly good day. My car didn't cost as much as I expected--always a good thing! But I was trapped in my driveway this morning because the city is paving the street I live on and two neighboring streets. The whole block was closed down. So I knew after driving down to get my car (it's an hour away) that I would need someplace to hang out. Off to my parents! Dad was gone but Maggie and Barb kept me good company and we talked about the research Barb is doing for a novel she wants to write. Fascinating! Finally, mid-afternoon, I was getting peckish and thought the pavers must be finished with at least half the street so I could park in my driveway for the day. After a quick stop at the market I came home to discover my wireless router waiting for me. It's all set up and installed and working properly. John, the tech guy I called for help, was so patient and funny, like having a long-lost friend help me.
Now I'm updating my computers and printer, setting Myles and Myrna up with the new wireless info and I think I need a nap.
