And I contend that "mothering" is not a function of biology - or even gender. I have about 70 children, and I love them all. I have been mothered by strangers, by drag queens, and by manly men. I have mothered people older than myself. Mothering is a function of love, plain and simple; if you've got a compassionate heart, you can be a mother.
You posted a list of "truths for mature humans" that I see on my reader, but not on your blog. They cracked me up; I think you should re-post them (especially #28! Yes, yes, a thousand times, yes!)
