Learning history was always fun for me. Many of the things our government did in the 19th century seemed so right at the time. (except to Geronimo, sitting Bull, and Mexico, the Phillipines, Hawaii, and a few other places.)
Manifest destiny was a justification for Imperialism and the slaughter of numerous indians. You won't see that version in any history book.
I'm with Boliyou. Back in the days of Schoolhouse Rock (and cowboys & Indians), we never discussed genocide in relation to good old elbow room, did we? How do you handle that, Teach?

They kind of glossed over what happened to the original Americans and a little thing like to Mexican-American war

Funny that we think of manifest destiny as a bad thing from the distant past, and yet it was accepted and celebrated as recently as the 70s and 80s.
