A Wind Chill Advisory remains in effect until 9 PM EST this
evening.

* Wind chill values... 20 to 30 below zero.

* Temperatures... 5 to 15 below zero.

* Winds... northwest 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 25
mph early... diminishing to around 5 mph.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Wind Chill Advisory is issued when wind will combine with cold
temperatures to create dangerously cold conditions for exposed
skin. The wind will make it feel like it is between 20 and
34 degrees below zero for a period of several hours. Those
planning to venture outdoors should dress warmly making sure that
all exposed skin is covered.

Don't forget to refill your humidifier and stock up on body butter. While everyone bitches and moans about the wind and cold outside, it's easy to forget the toll all the drying indoor heat can take on our skin ... and sinuses. Don't let this happen to you!

Last night I was on the main campus in Storrs and it was 9 and a light wind, this kid walks by me in shorts. He had a light jacket on, shorts and no hat or gloves. KIDS!
