Boosted from Bev, a Mingle buddy.
Hardcover or paperback, and why? Usually paperback, but lately it's been on my Barnes & Noble nook--so e-books!
My favorite quote from a book is... "It’s lovely to know that the world can’t interfere with the inside of your head." Angela's Ashes by Frank McCourt
The author (alive or dead) I would love to have lunch with would be... I think Mark Twain would be fun.
The smell of an old book reminds me of... dust and imagination.
If I could be the lead character in a book, it would be... I would love to be a detective, like Trixie Belden, she was my favorite when I was a kid.
The most overestimated book of all time is... Even though I enjoyed the books, I'd have to say the Twilight series was overblown.
I hate it when a book... has gratuitous bad language... how many times do I need to read the f-word?

I hate it when a book kills the main character in the end. It always seems like such a complete cop-out to me, like the author didn't have a better idea, so kills him to make it end.
Great posted. I liked it so much that I stole it. :)
I hate to hear you feel that way about the TWILIGHT series. Then again I was halfway through the third book before all the teenage-freak-out started over the series.
I don't mind gratuitous bad language when it's in character. But if the author's throwing it in just to amuse himself, that's annoying.

I agree on so many of these! I love old paperback books!
I just did that meme. It was a good one.
TRIXIE BELDEN!!!! I loved her! And yet I'd pretty much forgotten her, which shows what a disloyal fan I was to a true girlhood companion.
I've finally gotten around to stealing this here.
