1) I love the candy.
2) Pumpkins. Carved or uncarved. One year some kids I worked with (this was before I was teaching) went out and gathered up all the pumpkins they could find around town and I had guilted them about smashing the pumpkins so they left them on my front porch and walkway.
3) I used to love dreaming up costume ideas. My best one, though, was a nun's habit that was left over from a production of Nunsense.
4) It's The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown. Classic. Beloved.
5) Passing out candy to trick or treaters. I usually go to Dad's and pass out the loot because no kids come here.
6) Birthday parties. Because my birthday is so close to Halloween I used to have cool costume parties for my birthday. We'd have games and cake and good times.
7) Dog costumes. It's really fun to see dogs parading around all dressed up. My sister's dog won the costume contest last year.
8) Pumpkin chip cookies. Pumpkin chip bread. Pumpkin pie. Pumpkin seeds. Pumpkin spice latte from Dunkin' Donuts.
9) Spooky music. And funny old monster songs.
10) Friendly witches and ghosts, zombies and vampires. When they are jolly instead of evil.
