six signs you need a mammo now

Six Signs You Need a Mammo Now
by Maureen Connolly
Many breast cancers don't cause any symptoms (hence the need for annual mammos). But the National Cancer Institute has identified six things to watch out for. If you notice any of the following, call your doctor. Be clear about your symptoms and insist on being seen, pronto.

1. A lump or thickening in breast or underarm

2. Nipple discharge or tenderness

3. Nipple turning inward

4. Any part of the breast, nipple, or areola that becomes red, scaly, swollen, or mottled looking

5. Pain or tenderness (not related to PMS or other hormonal shifts)

6. A change in the size and shape of the breast, not due to weight loss or gain
