My friends and colleagues have formed a new book group to explore spirituality. We met for the first time today. Our first selection was Ishmael by Daniel Quinn. Even though some people didn't like the book--calling it simplistic and repetitive we had some good discussion about it. Back in 1992 when the book was published, raising the alarm about environmental issues was still new; but reading the book today took some of the urgency and freshness from the thinking in the book.
It'll be interesting to explore spirituality through different books and discussion with this collection of people.

I read Ishmael a couple years ago. It is a weird one in just they way I like weird. I ought to read it again
