ten things tuesday...

Ten random things:

1) Therapy is fascinating and challenging. Working on some baby steps to make some really big and important changes.

2) It breaks my heart that there are children being bullied to death. Literally to death. Oprah's on it tomorrow. This must stop. I am working on it at my school.

3) Hiccups are not fun. Especially after an hour.

4) Faculty meetings can get people stirred up. A real hot button issue came up yesterday and was still all the buzz today. We're talking about test re-takes. And my contribution to the whole discussion was to ask the students what would work for them. They probably have some good ideas.

5) Looks like I'm going to be teaching sophomores again next year. The only change is when the classes are. It was too much to hope for the same schedule. meh.

6) I need to have a good cry. You know when you get that feeling, like all my feelings are clogged? Well, maybe you don't know... but that happens to me sometimes.

7) I had a flash of inspiration today and am really excited about teaching Plessy v. Ferguson to my honors class. The overriding concept is does equal treatment mean the same treatment. And I've got some examples all picked out for them. wheeee!

8) It's Teacher Appreciation Week and there's no love comin' my way. Remember last year I got a beautiful bouquet of flowers??

9) I love sign language. ;-)

10) I drink a lot of water.

Thanks for the heads up on Oprah's topic. I was bullied in school, so I'm always interested in seeing the topic in the media.

Oh, the bullying thing just makes my blood boil. I HATE BULLIES! I hope you're successful reigning it in.

I hope the water helps you ward off another attack of the hiccups.

I love ASL, too. I saw this video on a friend's blog a few weeks ago, and it still makes me smile.

I'd be interested in your Plessy v. Ferguson lessons, if you're willing to share...
