the week that never ends...

It's cold. It's been a very long week. I haven't been sleeping well. I feel off my game. Crabby. Unlike myself. The extended school days have caught up with me. Thankfully today was the last day. Tomorrow we don't have students, we have a workshop day. Proving once again that we'll have a guest speaker with interesting things to say but no follow-up, or no timely follow-up. No funding. No time. blah, blah, blah.

I also discovered I'm not a good bored person. I don't do boredom often. But having the student teacher has been boring for me. Other than all the time and energy I've put in to working with her, I've been bored. And even after our big talk, she still isn't impressing me.

One of the comments I overheard her make is that it's tough to student teach with a popular teacher. And the more I think of it the more I think that's a crock of shit. Besides, she's a former student of mine, she knew what I'm like in the classroom. She observed me all last spring, so she knew what she was getting in to. I don't know, I just think it's a cop out for not raising her game, for not being better.

Anyhow, I get my classes back starting Monday. Just in time for mid-term exams. It's going to be a lot of transition time again.

So... yeah, this is the week that never ends. It's thirty-six below zero. And what if this is as good as it gets?

I keep reminding myself that Tuesday is Inauguration Day, and so everything will look much better.
