ten things tuesday...

Ten things that made the holiday bright:

1) Sticky buns! Coffee and sticky buns are a family tradition for Christmas morning.
2) Relaxation. There was no rushing around, no hustle and bustle or hassle to prepare a big huge meal for just the three of us.
3) The Nutcracker ballet. A tradition to watch some version or other on Christmas afternoon. This year it was a public television version by the San Francisco ballet.
4) Conversation. We talked politics, religion, books, music and everything in between.
5) Laughter. Much, much laughter and joking around.
6) Pretty presents. Everything looked so lovely scattered under the tree.
7) Family time. It was great when the kids were opening gifts, they are such appreciative, nice kids.
8) Finding the perfect gifts. It was fun to give Dad movies he hasn't seen; and Barb books she hasn't read. And my niece's reaction to her "JoBro" CD was priceless!
9) Getting the perfect gifts. I wasn't actually expecting to get any presents this year because I didn't know what I wanted. But I got some books and the David Cook's debut album.
10) Vacation. It's been great to unwind, sleep, watch TV and play games, leisurely breakfast and lunch with some friends.

I had hoped for David Cook's CD as well. I'll just buy it for myself now. I'm sure it is great!
