I'm sitting in class listening to my student teacher work her way through content. Poor thing, the kids aren't really listening to her and aren't paying attention to her at all. One kid is actually eating his handout which is too weird for words. I've never seen that before, sophomore in high school eating paper. Geeze Louise.
They're bored, I'm bored. I've got to figure out how to help her develop a more dynamic personality. We're teaching the Constitution which is dry enough but she's really dry. Isn't personality something you have or don't have? Can you develop a personality? At least she knows she doesn't have a lot of personality and is monotone. I'm really not being mean.
At least I figured out that I can blog from school. It used to be blocked.

Two things - one; BE CAREFUL blogging from school. Anything that goes through the school's server belongs to the school, and if they don't like you blogging, they can fire you for it. I know; I've seen it happen.
Two, I DO think that personality is something you either have or you don't. That being said, I do know that it takes a while for some people to get off their proverbial runways; your student teacher just may not have hit her stride yet. At least, that's what I'm HOPING - for everyone's sake.
She might not be able to develop a personality, but she can try to relate to the students. Does the school have rules? Did students have input? I think you need students to first relate to the topic before you start drolling on about dates & names...
