too much information, driving me insane...

Here I am, still in Portland. Things did not go well today for my poor daddy. I just wish something would go the way we expect for once, you know what I mean? It's hard to process everything the doctors and nurses are saying when I really only understand about half of what they're talking about. And there are only so many times I can say "what does that mean?" before I get overwhelmed with the information. There is one doctor who's yummy, I've nicknamed him "Dr. McHottie" and we're all referring to him that way. :-)

Today was not the best of days for my poor old dad. He's proving to be one of the more difficult cases that his doctor's had. His arteries are "tortuously twisted" and it was sheer luck that the stent that did get placed got in place. He had a significant hematoma in his groins (I had never heard it as a plural) and they were unable to complete the procedure. Long story short, he's on complete bed rest for a couple of days. But he was joking with us as we were leaving so at least he's in good spirits.

So, it's not over yet...

Honey, I wish I could be there to hold your hand and to help you process all this information. Trust me when I say I know how overwhelming it is. Been there, done that with my Grammy, my Mommy, and myself.

I'm here for you. I know you're not a phone person, but feel free to call or email me. I'll do my best to explain what I can. The internet is definitely your friend too because there are several sites that will give it to you in layman's terms.

My best advice is ask as many questions as you can. Start a notebook. When you're not there, write all the questions you can think of. When you are there, write down all the answers you get. Get printouts of everything. That way you can process it at your own speed.

And be sure to get Dr. McHottie's phone number. :D

LOVE YOU BUNCHES!!!

I wish the hugs were in person. I will be praying for you all.

I agree with Princess, get Dr. McHottie's number. ;-)

Well, doesn't this all just suck! I admire hwo your dad has been able to maintain his humor thoughout all this. I mean, "tortuously twisted" arteries and "significant hematoma!" So here are my wishes for you: May you only get to admire the charms of McHottie for a short period of time because your dad's ordeal will soon find a positive resolution, and may you never, ever have to type the words "tortuously twisted" and "significant hematoma" again!

I got the Police reference. Now that song'll be in my head all day.

Let me know if there's anything I can do. You mention that you're leaving - are you coming back? My offer to come up to be with you still stands.
