Interesting day, today.
There was a big fat elephant in the room and everyone danced around it. We are going to wear black ribbons every day to show our solidarity and strength as a union until we get some results from the firing fiasco.
The superintendent's opening remarks were strange--not the usual pep talk he gives us to motivate us, no groovy analogies. We did have time to work in departments, which was lively because I got into it with one of the very stubborn ones. And we had time to work in our rooms during Freshman Orientation, if we didn't have freshmen. Since I don't, I got our job targets done, filled out paperwork for the CACE workshop coming up in September and filled out the employee info thingy.
Overall it was a tiring, lackluster day. I didn't laugh much.
What if this is as good as it gets?

I hope part of this is just the malaise that comes with the end of vacation (which is very possible), and not shades of things to come.
