ten things tuesday...

Ten things that happened today... in no particular order

  1. Java. Made a most excellent cup of coffee in my little coffee maker at school. One cup is all I need.
  2. Hugs. Yeah, I know it's probably really "wrong" to hug students but when they come flying at me with their arms wide open it's hard to say no. I got a bunch of hugs today.
  3. Money in the bank. The stimulus has arrived!
  4. Pizza night!!!!!!!
  5. Great conversation. After school the gents of my department and I hung out and talked politics, school, schedules and everything in between. It was a great conversation.
  6. Laughed so hard I couldn't breathe. Sometimes the students say things to each other that are absolutely genuinely hilarious. And to repeat the whole story would make you wonder how it is funny.
  7. Good moods. Seems like everyone was in a good mood, despite the dreary weather. Cheerful faces in the morning and general silliness after school.
  8. Lunch. I spent time by myself at lunch, snarfed down my favorite Smart Ones frozen entree and generally was productive. A great way to recharge in the middle of a busy day.
  9. Books. Two colleagues lent books to me and I can't wait to get into them. One is a mystery series that I don't remember the name of and the other is the sequel to Pillars of The Earth by Ken Follet.
  10. American Idol is on tonight. And it's Neil Diamond night!

GREAT list!

I'm so with you on #6 - both my students, my children, AND my husband make me laugh on a regular basis, but half the stuff is only funny because we've got history, you know?

Oh, wasn't Idol fun tonight? I LOVED Paula reviewing (or previewing) performances that hadn't happened yet. While I missed Carly and her big voice, I have finally been won over to the David Cook camp.

Let us know what the mystery series is, and if it's any good. I love series.
