Coricidin HBP instructs taking every six hours (not to exceed four doses per day) but the six hours aren't up yet and my symptoms are keeping me awake. Do I risk it?
I mean, come on... how literally are we supposed to take these instructions? It's been ... oh, holy moly, it's been six hours, I can take it!
But what's up with the not to exceed four doses per 24 hours. Is that to prevent timetards like me from taking the doses after five hours? Would it matter if it's been five hours?
I donno... fuzzy thinking... all this coughing has addled my brain.
sleep... I need sleeeeeeeep

You poor thing! I really feel for you. I'm a DayQuil girl myself, and I once OD'd to the point that my fingers swelled. Of course, I'd been taking more than the recommended dose for more than a month (I was putting a band aid on what wasn't a cold at all but was, unbeknown to me, a sinus infection). So please, learn from my willful ignoring the OTC rules and try to follow the recommended dosage. Sleep, drink a lot of fluids, and please feel better.
