I was watching CBS Sunday Morning and they had a short segment on being put on hold. Therefore, I thought I would ask this question… What do you do when you are put on hold for a long time and you can’t just hang up because you will just have to wait some other time?
I usually play computer solitaire--Cruel is my favorite. Or I'll play Snood. Or delete files. Or look at photos on the computer.

I got a call the other day and they put me on hold! Can you imagine answering the phone and you get a record message... please wait for an important message... click.
When the telephonist asks if I can wait I yell: NO!!!, and tell her that my battery is nearly gone.
I wait no longer than 3 minutes.
Than go looking for an emailadress and mail the whole lot to them.
Otherwise I file a complaint about waiting.
It helps.
I usually doodle or, like you, play solitare.
