Living to a label can only become part of your personal truth and concept of self if at some level it is working for you. Living to that label, giving your power away, provides some kind of personal income--social, spiritual, or otherwise--that can make even the most painful and inappropriate labels highly durable and resistant to change. ~Dr. Phil
I've been thinking a lot about the ways I label myself. Reading Eckhart Tolle's A New Earth: Awakening To Your Life's Purpose is opening some internal dialogue which is long overdue. It deals a lot with the ego and the roles we play, which I liken to the above Dr. Phil quote. Sometimes I don't mind "people" expecting me to be a certain person or be a certain way but other times it's fun to shake things up.
I miss therapy.

Thank you thank you thank you!
I hate that I've been pigeonholed at work (they are SO into and actually teach True Colors) and that I am living up to/down to it (I think they think I've been living down to it, because not a single one in my organization is a green). As a Scorpio and a Green and and INTJ, my response normally would have been . . .who the ____cares?! I am a well-rounded person who has been stuffed into someone else's square hole. Thanks, Alison, for the reminder (even if it is from Dr. Phil) that I am an individual and I don't have to live with labels. Sheesh. I'm 61 years old and I'm still falling for this crap. What kind of Scorpio am I?!

Okay, I'm calmer now, but still grateful for the reminder that I am. Period.
