give me five monday...

The 'Give Me Five' Monday meme is designed to share fun information with each other in a simple short list! Here's how it works. Each week, I will put out a random topic from my list of topics and you share 5 answers of your choice on the given topic and link back here! You can add photos, links or stories or just a simple list of your own of 5 things that relate to the topic as it pertains to you and your life experiences. It doesn't have to be in any order of importance unless otherwise specified.

Give Me Five vacation destinations you've already enjoyed or would like to some day.

I'm sad that I don't have access to any of my own vacation photos. Some of them are hanging in my living room and look wonderful!

1) I have a giant photo taken of a windmill, I was standing at the bottom looking up and caught a very cool angle. From a vacation I took with my dad in Holland.

2) Highly recommend Paris. Highly. Recommend. Highly.

3) Aruba was great fun because we would sight see in the morning, sleep all afternoon and then enjoy a very late night out! It was a fantastic vacation for the whole group I traveled with, even though we were a wide variety of ages.

4) Barcelona, Spain, was magnificent. I was there during Mardi Gras season and those folks know how to party! It was my first experience with transvestites and we ended up at a club that had a huge fiesta--one of the games was trying to figure out which of the cabaret performers were men and women! But it was such a gorgeous city and there was plenty to do. The only drawback is that many people did not speak English and I don't speak Spanish. I had a great translation book, though.

5) Ireland felt like home. There is no other way to explain it. I would live there in a heartbeat. I can't wait to go back. Funny that it's been twenty years since I lived there but I still think of the smells, sights and sounds.

Kwizgiver, I would love to go to Ireland. Never been and all my ancestors come from there. You can always search Google for pix of the places you've been. Most of my pix are in hard copy so I had to use Google. :)

Oh, I love Paris and Ireland, too! I had just the best times there! I've never been to Barcelona but it is a place I'd love to visit. Oddly enough, next week I start teaching an online course for a group of students who met for face-to-face session this summer in...Barcelona! Dang! I'm only doing the online course and didn't get a chance to actually go there! But, I never say never! LOL!

Wow!!! From reading everyone's posts, I'm figuring out that I am VERY under-traveled!

I know what you mean about not speaking the language. I visited Italy last fall and can't speak a lick of Italian....had no idea how to order food! It was actually a bit upsetting because I didn't want to miss any great meal experiences just because I couldn't read the menu. Next trip will be much different! i will not rely on my friends to 'help' me because they didn't very well and I kept eating the same foods because that's all I knew what it was! LOL

Another well traveled person. How fun to get to do all this wonderful travelling. Very well done and I do understand about language barriers. Yikes. Have a great GM5. :)

Those sound like great places to visit. I would have loved to see your pictures, but the list was great without them.

You have been to some unique places! Lucky! My oldest daughter has been to Ireland with a friend and her family. Loved reading about your vacations.
