holidailies

I joined a challenge called Holidailies... to blog every day from December 1st until January 1st.

I'm glad I'm participating in Holidailies--it's forcing me to think about my day differently, so that I'm not just reporting out about the day but I'm commenting on it, if you catch that subtle difference.

This morning my bestie and I went to WalMart at 6:30, believing we'd beat the crowds. Boy were we wrong! Who would have thought that there would be crowds of grocery shoppers at that hour? Not I.

It's nice to know that I can use the stove & oven again. Not that there's been anything wrong with it; well, other than my hoarding every single piece of mail that has come in the door for the past two years--but that's all gone. The winds of change got into me and I knew it was time. Everything got sorted, filed, replied or dumped. Everything. I've since used the oven a few times to bake pizza and cookies but today I got groceries that I can bake and cook actual food. I know. It's a Festivus miracle.

Getting up that early to go to shopping left me feeling disoriented for the rest of the day. I wanted to have a nap but knew I was going out to dinner and didn't want to flatten or ruin my hair (vanity, I know, but it's great hair today). So, without a nap it seems like this is the longest day of the year. When it's really the shortest day.

So... lemme wrap this all up by saying: Holidailies has given me a renewed enthusiasm for blogging, other than the daily memes I love. I mistakenly thought WalMart would be... not busy at 6 am and was terribly mistaken. I have conquered my hoarding problem in the kitchen. I am having especially good hair today.

Gah, I'm tired.

While I appreciate a good hair day as much as anyone (probably more, even), I'd have taken the nap. Napping opportunities occur so infrequently in my life that I jump on every chance...

Happy holidailies!
