armistice day...

I owe deep gratitude to all of the men and women who have served our nation. I think of myself as a super patriotic person, even though I do not often agree with some of our political leaders nor pundits.

For some reason, I get a bit emotional when I reflect on Armistice Day and WWI-- The War To End All Wars.

Thank you, Veterans, for your many sacrifices.

It's weird, I feel no emotion when it comes to the thought of WWI. That was like, before WWII, right? Seriously, though, WWII is the big one. We fought the Japanese who attacked us on our very own soil... and we went in to free citizens of Europe as well as Africa! How generous of the United States!!! I often wonder if we should apologize to the Nazis and if American leaders should be held accountable as war criminals seein' as how Hitler never even attacked us here. Pre-emtive war. Hmmm. I guess they did declare war on us... just like Iran has. Hmmmm. And shouldn't we spit on Veterans who've served in Iraq since they've killed "hundreds of thousands" of innocent Iraqis? Hmmm. They could've conscientiously objected to serving, couldn't they've? Gone to safe haven in Canada.

So much to ponder.

Kids now should ponder how they owe their country... and not the other way around. Many believe this country owes them. They were born here so they're owed something. Blows my mind that many kids now think that way. They should be bowing to those who've served to protect our freedoms. Figuratively I bow down to them... and to those that've fought and been wounded and those who've died defending the human rights of others in other nations. We're all neighbors on this planet spinning, spinning Free... it's not only us we should be concerned about. We can't police the world and help everyone in need... but trying to give freedom to a few million here and a few million there, quite a noble thing, as noble as protecting our very own freedom.

To troops everywhere, people should truly be more thankful, not just on 11/11... but everyday!
