hmmmmmm

"One man measuring another man's life is always unfair, or unbalanced, or a misunderstanding. In reality, you never know what another man's life is like, and even if you think you do, you wouldn't get it right. You never know, because the only thing you have to measure by is your own life, and that is such a limited thing. You would have to live a long time in your imagination to approach another man's life with any sympathy or genuine understanding at all". –- Author Unknown

This idea always amazes me. The fact that my husband and I (or my best friend and I, or really ANYONE and I) have VERY different relationships is astounding - my marriage to my husband is ENTIRELY different from his marriage to me.

Even when we have empathy - when I feel for your loss of a friend because I've also lost a friend - we're still not feeling the same emotion. We really DO create our own reality, and it's truly a wonder that we can interact with each other at all...
