zombified...

Every stinkin' year I vow I will spend more time working in my classroom getting everything "just right" for the first day. I don't like having to use my own time for it, though. So this year I just didn't do it. I'm good to go and very organized, but... not decorated. I don't feel anything, either, about it. No anxiety, no nothing.

At last count this afternoon, there are ninety-eight students in my classes--not counting homeroom or study hall. I was smart enough to look up pictures in last year's yearbook to see if I was familiar with the faces... and I knew most of them on sight.

I suppose I should check the weather for tomorrow so I'll know how to dress. Pants? Skirt? Dress? I do know I'm not nervous for tomorrow. I guess all the preparation I did is paying off. No posters on the wall but I'm good to go.

One of the highlights of the day was being able to help my friends with the computer training today. Unfortunately, because I was pretty adept at what we were doing today, my name was bandied about to become a computer mentor. I quickly said NO THANKS!!!

I'm pooped!

I guess I don't really have much else to say... I've got a couple quizzes queued up and hey, why not a random video?

Isn't it amazing how exhausting those first few days can be?
