thursday threesome

::Lettuce and tomato::
from the garden

Onesome: 'Lettuce'-- talk of salads and dressings: Is plain green your thing? ...or do you like 'stuff' mixed in or scattered over the top? ...and how about the dressing: what's leading your list this year? It all depends on the salad. I could eat plain... but I like the stuff mixed in and scattered, especially sliced almonds or a little feta cheese. Favorite dressings this year are: Ken's Steakhouse fat-free raspberry-walnut vinaigrette, Ken's Steakhouse lite raspberry-pomegranate vinaigrette, Ken's Steakhouse lite northern Italian dressing, and Newman's Own anything lite dressing.

Twosome: and-- how about those Mets, -eh? Actually, baseball's doing okay this week, with basketball, football and cycling having the problems. Is there any sports news you'd care to comment on? What is this "sports" of which you ask? mua I'll just say the RedSox break my heart. Year after year.

Threesome: tomato-- and lettuce: the perfect toppings for that hamburger someone will cook up for you at a Labor Day picnic in another month or so? ...or perhaps you have another set of condiments you like on your meat or tofu? Vegetables do not belong on burgers. Unless it's mustard. Or ketchup. Or, sometimes relish. Tofu makes me gag; and soy burgers sometimes give me tummy troubles.

Oh, I must disagree. I love a good sweet onion.

I enjoy all those dressings also. And a salad MUST have things sprinkled in..... We are so much alike!

As for tofu, I gotta eat it 'cos I'm a vegetarian. No meat but my body needs protein...go fig. Soy patties are yummy with ketchup, dijon mustard, tomatoes, pickles and s/p. yummmmm NOW I'm hungry!
