A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 8 PM EDT Friday. Snow will overspread the area late this evening... mixed with rainat the onset... and then continue into Friday. Snow will be heavyat times late tonight into early Friday morning. Snowfall willgradually decrease in intensity during the day on Friday. Totalsnow accumulations will range from 5 to 9 inches.This storm will have a moderate impact on the warning area. ... Snowfall will continue to move east into northern and easternMaine overnight... Latest Doppler continues to indicate snowfall moving east intonorthern and eastern portions of Maine. Despite mild surfacetemperatures around 40 ahead of the snowfall... evaporationalcooling of initial precipitation in very dry low level air anddynamic cooling from aloft due to higher precipitation rates willresult in precipitation beginning as snow or rapidly transitioningto snow after a brief period as rain and snow mix at the onset.Snowfall could become moderate to heavy late tonight. Motoristsshould be alert for rapidly changing Road conditions from dry towet late this evening... to snow covered with patchy ice late tonight.
