It was a bright and sunny day today--in the teens, so it wasn't too cold. Perfect day for a road trip. Once I got myself going it was great driving. I stopped a the planets (Saturn it looks different when snow-covered). What an odd thing to just drive by; can't imagine how people aren't curious about the whole thing. But, drive by they do.
So... let's see, I went through Easton, on the back route to Mars Hill, contemplated going to Al's but I was just there yesterday and it was an awesome day to drive so I continued along to the Blue Moose and had seafood chowder and a cheeseburger without the bun (why is it so weird that I don't want a bun?) and a handful of chips, but I didn't eat the chips. I could have had a much better burger at home, having never had one at the Moose I did not know what I was getting in to.
All in all it was a lovely Sunday drive. I dug out a handful of cassettes (my next car will definitely have a CD player) and sang along to some memories. Making mixed CDs isn't nearly as fun as making mixed tapes was. I hadn't written in the singers on some of the songs and after fifteen years or so I am sad to say I don't quite remember them all. One tape is called Usual/Unusual and includes a song of the Tom Jones classic covered by The Pretenders. Seriously, how fun is it to sing along with that?? And some Nina Simone, The Ocean Blue, Traveling Wilburys, the Squeeze... oh, that's some good stuff.
Nice day, nice drive. Just enough alone time.
what if this is as good as it gets?

How nice, just to travel away for a day!
I'm jealous. I did go see my gran and we ate trifle and pancakes.
It was delectable.
Did you have trifle first or pancakes first? :-)
