Two days in a row of sunshine! It was a nice day for our family cookout/birthday party for Dad. Tammy and the kids were in jolly form and the burgers, although a bit overcooked were delicious with sweet peppers mixed in! Nothing like red-skinned hotdogs on the grill, either. Snap! ***
Miss Germaine asked if I would do something special with her tomorrow so we made a lunch date. Then I think I'll get groceries... not too terribly special but spending time together is always good. I wonder where we'll go for lunch?? I'm not sure what'll be open, I guess it will be a game-day decision!
I had fun hanging out with Dad and Barb tonight. Barb is always asking how therapy is going and fortunately, I have some interesting stuff to tell her. It's going ok but it's slow and kind of heavy. As long as there's continued progress, I guess that's all good. We talked about a couple of epiphanies I've had--one about my sister and another about journaling. I'm working on accepting my sister for who she is and not who I want her to be. (uhm... yeah, I'm working on it) And I had stopped writing anything because I was under a possible subpoena and anything could be called into court--naturally I didn't want to write anything. And, as I've been a diarist since I was in third grade (about age 9) it was hard to stop writing but now it's hard to start writing. However, when I write something that I feel uncomfortable about having written, I am to make a ceremonial "fire" and burn it. I had never considered that before, but talking it through with Dr. Lisa made so much sense. And now I'm trying to get back into the groove of writing. I guess I'm doing ok since I've started a blog.
Barb told me that Margo sent her a gorgeous bouquet for Mother's Day. I think that's so great! I wish we all would be comfortable calling Barb Mom, but... that might weird her out. I knew Margo connected with her and vice versa. I could definitely see their bond during this past November visit. Too bad the visits couldn't be more frequent. I should hop in the car and go down there for a visit.
On another note:
Oooh, I had a manicure today. It was great, except the tech talked a bit more than I was ready for. She yammered on and on and on... but a great new nail color (OPI "She sells sushi at the seashore" or something similar) and a nice experience. I can see myself doing this more often, especially at $12 a pop.
I was given a copy of Taylor Hicks' CD Under the Radar and I really like it. Soul Patrol, indeed!!
so... what if this is as good as it gets?
***red-skinned hotdogs are a local delicacy--they snap when you eat them and the skins are bright red***

Manicures are the best. Pedicures too. :)
I need to get a pedi, too. Those are particularly yummy.
Actually, I should get a massage...
Interesting website with a lot of resources and detailed explanations.
