My all-time idol, Jackie Kennedy Onassis, was loathe to get rid of books. So she had square foot pieces of glass cut and she'd place them on knee-high or waist-high piles of books and turn her clutter into end tables. Hillary Clinton tells the story of how, shortly after the 1992 election, she had lunch with Jackie in her Fifth Avenue apartment and they each ate off one of these stacks. According to Hillary it was so stylish and unique and charming. If I did that, I'd be the messy, crazy cat lady who serves people lunch off a stack of book.
I use books to straighten out posters.
