back on the couch...

Met with my new therapist the other day and my mind is busy processing. Thinking and thinking and thinking. That's what's going on. I've got some relaxation homework and some other paperwork to fill out about OCD so we can figure out on what areas to focus. It's all good and I'm really interested in doing the work. Even though it's going to take me out of my comfort zone.

idol chatter

Rat pack night with Jamie Foxx as the mentor. V-e-r-y interesting. At first, I wondered what Foxx would be able to say to the singers, since he's known as an R&B singer but his classical background seemed to kick in and he has a great ear for Rat Pack stylings. Tonight I really enjoyed Kris and Adam. I thought Allison was good but she doesn't have the bravado to win. Danny was great tonight, something clicked for him finally. I didn't care for Matt's version of "Funny Valentine." So, let's see... my prediction? I think either Allison or Matt will go home.

At your worst, you refuse to grow up. You are very prone to daydreaming and fantasizing.

A very relaxing vacation. Just enough travel, just enough bestie time, just enough reading time, and I'm relaxed. I think I'm ready to go back for the next 8 weeks--then it's summer break. I do wish I'd napped more.

Loved the book, can't wait to see the movie!

today...

Just got back from an appointment with my psychiatrist for a meds check. I hate that it's an hour drive each way for a ten minute appointment. (things are great) But, the highlight this trip, not only with gorgeous weather was my bestie coming with me and going to the Lakeview Restaurant. We saw only two moose on the trip. Not bad.

But I'm really excited that all three skirts I got this week are scooter skirts. I don't wear shorts in the summer, so scooters are perfect for me!

A great book about the connections we make with friends and those special people we invite into our lives. There are twists and turns as each character discovers the life they didn't realize they were meant to live. In one section, I was moved to tears and thought about my dearest friendships.

Courting Relaxation

Scorpio Daily Horoscope

An unsettled mind-set can descend upon you without warning today, leaving you unable to concentrate and incapable of relaxation. Though you may want nothing more than to spend a quiet day at home engaging in tranquil activities, your tendency to fidget and your preoccupation with distressing thoughts can prevent you from realizing this goal. To cure the anxiety interfering with your enjoyment of your free time, you will likely need to reflect upon the roots of your nervousness. You may discover today that concerns wholly unrelated to your current circumstances are making you feel disconcerted and that you can happily banish these at will.

Copious nervous energy that resists all attempts to dispel it through general means is most often a sign that there is some issue in our lives that needs to be addressed before we can give ourselves over to truly immersive relaxation. Emotional baggage is a remnant of some part of our consciousness that once served a real purpose in our lives and can challenge our perceptions of the world around us, causing us to feel uncertain about what the future may bring and thus unsure of ourselves. Letting go of these less-than-useful aspects of the self frees us to devote our time and energy to those elements of our development that help us feel almost continually secure and optimistic. The discomfort you feel while attempting to unwind today will dissipate as you identify and then do away with the source of the underlying unease.

Teacher took students to strip club

School: Ohio teacher took students to strip club

HAMILTON, Ohio (AP) - A school spokesman says a southwest Ohio teacher has resigned after acknowledging she accompanied four female students to a male strip club.

Butler Tech school district spokesman Bill Solazzo says 47-year-old Lori Epperson resigned Thursday. He said Epperson told Edgewood High School administrators that the students - all cheerleaders at the school north of Cincinnati in Trenton - asked her to take them to the bar in February.

Epperson told school officials in an e-mail that she got permission from the parents of the 17- and 18-year-olds to bring them to Club Masque in Dayton.

Epperson taught marketing at the school and previously served as a coach for the district's eighth-grade cheerleaders.

vroom...

Gotta take my baby to the garage in the morning. Unfortunately, because of the extended warranty, I have to have it serviced at the dealer. The dealer is an hour south of here. So it's an early morning. I won't get to sleep in this weekend. Oh well. I can always nap.

coming up...

Made an appointment with a new therapist today. I can't get in for a couple weeks but I got a date. I have a sense of relief. And a sense of anticipation. I'm ready to do the work.
