So, I mentioned that my holiday spirit is a bit dented this year. Mostly it's because the things I look forward to the most are things that didn't occur this year. The family sing-a-long was canceled this year because there were too many busy schedules to try to accommodate. Part of what bummed me out is that I was
accidentally left out of the email exchanges. I skipped my school Christmas party for it. I found out when I was driving home and I phoned Dad's to see if I could pick anything up for the night and they said, "why what's tonight?" I was almost in tears when it all sank in. I came home and put on fuzzy pajamas and was about to watch
Elf to cheer myself up, when my friend phoned me from knit night to ask if I was coming. So I got re-dressed and went to knit night and cheered up somewhat. I was still looking forward to Dad's annual Sunday-before-Christmas concert. That was canceled because of the storm.
*muttergrumble* So my holiday spirit has taken a beating and it slightly dented.
Getting the packages mailed, the rest of the gifts organized, and spending time with my bestie today has re rejuvenated my spirit.
Well Yay then! Soooo Good to hear that your dent was hammered out a bit at knit night. Merry Christmas to you and all who sail with you!
ReplyDeleteI don't have the Christmas spirit this year either. I only send out two Christmas cards and the family is not getting together for Christmas this year. My nephews are all at their in-laws, so I invited myself to my niece's for Christmas.
ReplyDeleteWelcome back! Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteI am bah humbugging it at my house too...just tired of the whole holly jolly crap!
