Connecting with your students...Happy summer break!

Connecting with your students is far greater (and will be remembered by them for far longer) than any content you teach. I know; I'm not sure I'm happy with this either! But it's true. You did great!

#1 happens to me all the time.onebadscrivenerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14369040536178632130noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28508398.post-87568260571567933952021-06-05T09:38:02.609-04:002021-06-05T09:38:02.609-04:00I've seen firsthand the struggles that teacher...I've seen firsthand the struggles that teachers had this year and this year good enough is actually amazing. Thank you for what you do. I was in school during Watergate. Mr. Abrahamson was my American history teacher. He changed the lesson plan from WWII to current affairs because we were witnessing American history. Because Watergate was so polarizing, a lot of parents complained. (My dad bitched about it from his recliner but never called the school. Whenever he brought it up, I asked him why he didn't talk to my teacher or the school board and he just changed the subject.) During Bill Clinton's impeachment, I was shocked by how much of the process I recalled from that class, decades before. But even more than the facts, I remember the milieu. Mr. Abrahamson made me aware that I was living through historic times. This pandemic was historic. You are forever part of their memories. The way you carried yourself, the attitude you conveyed, is as important as what you taught because that will be remembered, too. BTW, Mr. Abrahamson always wore khakis. Different shirts, but always khakis. So it's a good thing you put so much care into your blouses and accessories because, with Zoom, they'll remember that, too. :)The Gal Herselfhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02566779726191649848noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28508398.post-29239310831457479872021-06-04T18:15:05.625-04:002021-06-04T18:15:05.625-04:00Love your answers!!
