1. What's your life's motto? basically it is "What if this is as good as it gets?"

2. Where were you living 13 years ago? in my former apartment, from which I was unceremoniously evicted in January of 2024

3. Is anyone jealous of you? yes

4. Where were you when you heard about the 9/11 terror attacks? I was teaching an American Studies class to sophomores and one of my homeroom kids who was a terrible prankster came to my door and interrupted the class telling me about it--I thought he was pranking

5. Do you consider yourself kind? yes

6. Can you change your car's oil? I can take my car to have the oil changed 😉

7. What's the last thing you heard about your first love? he recommended a book I read

8. Have you ever been burned by love? yes

9. What was the last thing you paid for with cash? I left a cash tip at a restaurant

10. Do you hug your friends? my bestie and my work bestie are not huggers, so I rarely hug them

It seems some folks prefer cash, in part because some restaurants hold back some waitstaff tips.

When I worked for the car care client, I learned there was a definite divide on this. Some drivers consider it a badge of honor to change their own oil, as though they don't really know/love their cars if they don't DIY. They don't get how awful used motor oil is, how filthy and destructive if it is disposed of improperly. It's not only easier to have someone else do it, it's smarter.

There's a song called "Things can only get better" that I think has potential for a good life motto.
