Silent Night

1) How well do you know "Silent Night?" Without looking up the lyrics, could you sing along with Elvis? Yes, I can sing along without lyrics

2) The Christmas with Elvis album hit the stores in October 1957. Were you already preparing for Christmas back in October? I was in the "thinking about it" mode

3) Clearly Elvis liked a flocked white Christmas tree. Is your tree flocked, aluminum or pine green? Real or artificial? Or do you skip the whole tree thing altogether? I have a fiber optic 24 inch tree

4) Back in the late 1950s, Elvis left his hair its natural brown color. In the 1960s he began having it dyed black. Do you have a salon appointment scheduled between now and year end? yes--but it's a manicure

5) Have you ever peeked, looking for a Christmas gift you know is hidden for you somewhere in the house? not since I was a little kid

6) Which do you prefer, candy canes or gingerbread? well--it depends--is the gingerbread soft? If it's hard, I prefer candy canes

7) Is anyone receiving a home made or do-it-yourself gift from you this year? I am giving several gifts I knit

8) Do you wrap holiday gifts in paper, or do you take the gift bag route? usually the gift bag route

9) This time of year is big for charitable fundraising. Here's your chance to plug a cause or organization that's near and dear to you. A plug for my hometown's CANCER support group.

I once had a fiber optic tree. I loved that you just had to plug the dang thing in and walk away :)

I think I would like a fiber optic tree. I've seen them in the store.

Cancer groups always need to be supported, although I don't think it will be cured. Too much money in the effort to cure to actually find a cure. That is very disturbing, but I think it true.

I like the soft glow of fiber optic trees. We got my grandmother a fiber optic tree just about that size when she was in the nursing home...I wonder whatever became of it? It would be a good size for my kitchen island.

Enjoy being pampered at your manicure appointment. I should get one, but I need someone skilled in damage control. I had 3 gel manicures leading up to our daughter's wedding to keep the nails long and looking good. Those do such a number on my nails...dries them out, the sanding makes them weak, and once I finally quit the nails get to the ends and peel in layers. I can't get it to stop so they are really awful and ugly right now.

Having your nails done is a lovely thing.
And, Isn't soft gingerbread lovely. The first time I had it I was about 10, and one of my parents' friend's daughter made it for us. She put whipped cream on top and it's been love ever since.
You got that knitting done. Yay!
Gift bags or really pretty gorgeous choices.
Merry Christmas, Kwizgiver!

I think all gingerbread is good gingerbread, so I'll take the hard cookies off your hands.

I think it's nice that you're keeping your cancer donation local.
