Write about 3 things you would do if YOU were the President of the United States.

1) Admit I don't know everything about everything and appoint cabinet heads who do! I would carefully choose experts in the fields. And I would have them follow protocol for vetting and Congressional hearings. I would want these cabinet posts to be filled with thoughtful individuals who are willing to listen to what "the people" have to say and need.

2) Reorganize how we educate our children. I would equitably fund schools. I would make sure teachers are not spending their own money on supplies. I would expand the opportunity for higher education by prioritizing college or trade school for all. I strongly believe it is our moral obligation to educate our citizens. And I would require input from teachers.

3) I would also re-evaluate our justice system to decriminalize some crimes. Realizing that is an oxymoron, I think there are harsh penalties for lower-level drug offenses and not enough harsh penalties for child abuse cases. The death penalty does not deter criminals from committing crimes. Perhaps this is tied to the gun issues. Although I don't think taking guns away from law-abiding citizens is the answer.

As President, I would strive to be inclusive. I would value differing opinions no matter how popular they are. Listening to ideas isn't harmful. I would encourage protesters to peacefully protest. I would encourage dialogue. And I would have a kickass inauguration.
