Fortune Faded

1) The song begins with a chess reference. Do you play chess? I do not

2) The lyric also mentions losing altitude. Often airline travelers complain that their ears pop as the plane loses altitude. When you fly, does this bother you? my ears pop when I drive down (or up) big hills! It doesn't bother me, but it happens often.

3) Four of the original members attended the same school -- Fairfax High in Los Angeles. Fairfax High's mascot was The Lions. Do you remember what your school team (grade school, high school or college) was called? We were the Wolves in middle school, the Wildcats in high school, and the Owls in college.

4) The band has appeared on The Simpsons. Which is your favorite character from the long-running Fox cartoon show? Lisa or Marge

5) Bass player Michael Balzary, or Flea, cofounded The Silverlake Conservatory of Music, a non-profit educational organization for under-privileged children. Share a memory from music class in school. I had a hippy-dippy music teacher during middle school; I got her and what she was trying to do when she played various music, but most of my peers mocked her and hated it--I especially remember her playing Tapestry during class and the boys pretend-vomiting

6) The Red Hot Chili Peppers have played at massive outdoor festivals all over the world. Do you enjoy listening to concerts outside, under the sun or stars? Or do you prefer air conditioned indoor comfort? well... it depends on the performer! James Taylor under the stars at a ball park was awesome! Sting outside under the stars didn't feel as intimate as I had hoped (although it was a fantastic concert)! Elvis Costello in a small theater felt like a private gig. So... it depends...

7) Red bell peppers are used in Giada De Laurentiis' popular Italian sausage, pepper and onion recipe. Would you prefer to have your portion served in a bowl or as a sandwich? I think I would prefer a bowl, it looks messy

8) Red cayenne peppers are very hot. Do you enjoy spicy foods? I used to like food so hot my eyelids would sweat, but not anymore!

9) Random question: Are you a spender or a saver? I'm a spender... I have poor impulse control

I never in my life ever met anyone like me that says they have poor impulse control. Now, if there were a cure, I could have a buck left at the end of the month!! xoxo

Seems like most of us are spenders. Whoops! That's going to bite us big time one of these days. :(

As hot as it comes, that's the way I used to like my food, too. All the kids got that gene, as DH had it, too.
Mother taught thrift by example and necessity, being married to a wastrel, and Mr. Z. learned it from his father, but we had a very "decorated" life anyway, squeezing pennies the whole way through.
You should write books for money! You'd be great!

Your teacher sounds like she was really trying. Too bad the boys acted like such... boys.

I don't believe I've ever had food that hot. Wowza.
