What are the 10 most significant events in your life?

1) My mum's death.

2) My grandfather's death.

3) My grandmother's death.

4) Living in Ireland. It changed my life. It was the first time I went somewhere that no one knew my family (my family is well-known around the state), so people judged me on me, not on my family. They liked me!

5) 1988--the summer of love. I was in college, I had amazing friends, everything was wonderful.

6) Moving home from my first teaching job. I had been miserable there. This changed my relationship with my dad.

7) Working full-time in retail. Oh, the things I learned. I still dream of working there, sometimes the dreams are so vivid I feel as though I should call them to find out when I am scheduled.

8) Traveling by myself--both European trips and road trips. I learned to be brave!

9) Teaching at my present job.

10) Pulmonary emboli.

I found this exercise painful. How about you?

As one who prefers traveling by herself, I found #8 especially interesting. We learn a lot that way, don't we?
