I love that you make something with your hands and then share. That makes your contribution so much more personal.
My mom knits hats for chemo patients, too. She's been featured in the newspaper. Her group also does scarves for soldiers, lap robes for shut-ins, preemie afghans, and prayer shawls. It's an awesome thing you all do. I wish I could knit.
Close-knit beats big and extended, I think. You have the better of it.
