musing mondays

Musing Mondays asks you to muse about one of the following each week…

• I’m currently reading…
• Up next I think I’ll read…
• I bought the following book(s) in the past week…
• I’m super excited to tell you about (book/author/bookish-news)…
• I’m really upset by (book/author/bookish-news)…
• I can’t wait to get a copy of…
• I wish I could read ___, but…
• I blogged about ____ this past week…

This week’s random question: Name a book everyone should read at least once.

Because I'm drawing a blank on a book that everyone should read at least once, I'm going to answer another prompt...

I'm currently reading two books: Blue Lily, Lily Blue by Maggie Stiefvater and Trigger Mortis by Anthony Horowitz and Ian Fleming. Trigger Mortis is a book group selection and it's a fun read, if I don't take it seriously. I mean, it's not high literature and it's really quite dated--but it is James Bond, so what do I expect?

When I was a teen I read all of Ian Fleming's James Bond's books. That's been awhile ago, but I remember loving them! I think I was also proud that I actually read the books and not just saw the movies. It must be a blast from the past- it's a real 60's piece. Take a look at his Wiki bio- I was checking the dates and I'm real impressed with Ian Fleming's background! His Dad was in Parliament and died in WWI and Ian Fleming did service in Intelligence in WWII and that's the background for the James Bond novels. Wow- I never knew. Happy reading.
