tbr challenge

I am participating in a challenge that I saw at Cynthia's blog, which is hosted by Roof Beam Reader. A bonus incentive: everyone who completes their challenge will be entered to win a $50 gift card from Amazon or The Book Depository! If you are interested in joining the challenge as well, just head over to Roof Beam Reader!

The Goal: To finally read 12 books from your “to be read” pile (within 12 months).

The rules are simple: Each of these 12 books must have been on your bookshelf or “To Be Read” list for AT LEAST one full year. This means the book cannot have a publication date of 1/1/2014 or later (any book published in the year 2013 or earlier qualifies, as long as it has been on your TBR pile – publication dates will be checked).

Caveat: Two (2) alternates are allowed, just in case one or two of the books end up in the “can’t get through” pile.

My books:
  1. The Last Anniversary by Liane Moriarity (2006)
  2. Lighthouse Island by Paulette Jiles (2013)
  3. Paper Towns by John Green (2008)
  4. The Book of Lost Things by John Connolly (2006)
  5. The Patron Saint of Liars by Ann Patchett (1992)
  6. The Crime of Julian Wells by Thomas H. Cook (2012)
  7. Spinning by Michael Baron (2011)
  8. We Need To Talk About Kevin by Lionel Shriver (2006)
  9. The Crossing Places by Elly Griffiths (2009)
  10. Love And Other Subjects by Kathleen Shoop (2012)
  11. The Witch's Daughter by Paula Brackston (2011)
  12. Seating Arrangements by Maggie Shipstead (2012)
Alternates:
  1. Dead Politician Society by Robin Spano (2010)
  2. Outlander by Diana Gabaldon (2004)

Hopefully I will stop buying books and read only from my TBR. ;-)

Yay, so glad you are participating in the challenge as well. I would be excited for your thoughts on Looking for Alaska by John Green. I loved the other two books I read of his and I have heard good things about that one too.

I'm in, too!

I haven't read any of these books. Gulp! I just saw the 2014 NY Times list of best books and didn't know many of them either. Sheesh! I feel like I'm becoming a functional illiterate.

But good luck to you with the TBR challenge. I always love your book posts.

Good luck this year! I have Outlander but still need to read it too. Enjoy Looking for Alaska. I am jealous of everyone who still has John Green books they haven't read yet.
