snow day

So, there's no school tomorrow. They actually cancelled tonight!

Heavy
snow and sleet expected across the North with sleet, rain and freezing rain changing to rain Downeast later tonight into Wednesday morning.

Sleet and freezing rain will change to Rain Downeast.

Snow, sleet and freezing rain will continue over central areas changing to freezing rain By Dawn. Snow across the North will change to sleet and freezing rain Wednesday morning but remain all snow across far northwestern Maine. A substantial accumulation of sleet is possible across northern areas late tonight into Wednesday morning.

Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until noon EST Thursday.

Locations: Northern and east central Maine.
Hazard types: Heavy snow and significant sleet and freezing rain.
Snow accumulation: 4 to 8 inches.
Sleet accumulation, 1 to 2 inches.
Ice accumulation, around one half an inch.
Timing: continuing into Thursday morning.
Impacts: High to very high impact. Expect hazardous travel. Snow, sleet and ice will produce slippery conditions. Accumulation of snow and ice along with some wind may cause tree limbs to snap with scattered to numerous power outages possible.
Winds: northeast 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph.
Temperatures: in the lower 30s.
Visibilities: one quarter mile or less at times.
