ten things tuesday

Ten random things:

1) It was hot as blazes in my classroom yesterday. I'm doing everything I can to keep it cooler today. So far, so good. And it's almost lunch time!

2) It's school photo day. Interrupted classes all day. It's amusing that some kids go all out and look completely different.

3) My overhead screen fell off the wall on me. It scared me more than anything, although my pinky hurts from how I caught it. And I did a very good job only exclaiming "Holy crap!" instead of something more vulgar.

4) I'm doing well learning all my students' names this year. It helps that I have had a lot of the seniors before, or that I know them by reputation by the time I have them in class.

5) I think I'm going to take a break from manicures for a while. Mostly because my usual technician is on maternity leave and I'm not thrilled with the substitute they got for her, but also to give my nails a break.

6) I found an interesting blog challenge for September. The Single Woman’s 30-Day Blogging Challenge.

7) Procrastinating the final two episodes of True Blood. They're just sitting on my DVR. I'm sad it's over.

8) A student's family has a farm stand and they made some applesauce--I got a huge container of homemade, chunky applesauce! It's so good!

9) The temperature has climbed above 85 degrees again... my room, although it has an occasionally strong breeze, is quite warm. Blah.

10) My sister sent me this picture via Bookface because... well, because...

I wonder about knowing students "by reputation". That can't be good!

I've taken a break from pedicures (the horror!) to save a little money. I haven't felt much like wearing sandals this year anyhow (couldn't say why). I sure do miss those nice leg massages tho'

I love homemade applesauce and it's so easy to make! Gonna get wild apples and male some this year.
